Hello there,
Its been a while...
Hope you're well and happy, things have been ok-ish I guess. Nothing too exciting, but nothing boring either. Today was weird though.
On the first day of February, our Comprehensive Health Team welcomed a new member (aka "The Specialist")
A confident and over-powering woman, who seems to own a room the moment she enters.. The type of woman who's reputation precedes her wherever she goes.
If you're this type of person, its best that your reputation doesn't give people a bad impression and if it does, then its best that you're able to prove it wrong.
This lady however is exactly what her reputation says and just as bad, if not worse.
On her first day, after settling in, she went around to the different departments and asked in an interogative tone "Who are you?" and "What do you do?" Needless to say, this got most peoples backs up. Most people are now scared to talk to her or approach her because of her attitude.
Today is day 4 of her stay, the day my week got interesting. The Specialist has decided to start criticising everyone who she thinks isn't practising their religion properly in the work place. To me "Have you no shame to be prancing around like a show-horse? Were you not taught to be modest? Its because of women like you, that the rest of us aren't taken seriously!" Me"Huh? 'Women like what?' 'The rest of who?'" "God-fearing women, who aren't ashamed to practice their religion openly"
No my question is, how do you treat someone like this with the respect deserving of a colleague who you'll spend up to 8hours of your day with? Someone who criticises and openly questions your morals and ethics and isn't afraid to embarrass themselves.
I don't know how she made it this far, but to me you have to be a peoples person and treat everyone with the respect you'd like to be treated with yourself in order to be successful in life.
On that note.
Have an awesome weekend
Tara :)
